NEW HAVEN, CT - The Millburn High School Forensics Team visited Yale University for its second tournament of the year under the direction of new head coach Edison Sannon. While there from September 20 to 22, the team placed fifth overall at the tournament, ranking above dozens of schools from throughout the entire country.

Five members of the team finished in the top three of their respective categories of speech and debate.

After coming in third place last year, senior Chase Harrison finished in second place in  the Extemporaneous Speaking event.

In the Dramatic Interpretation event, senior Andrew Singer finished in 2nd place.  At this time, he is ranked number two in the country for that event.

The team also met success in both debate events. Sophomore Wesley Hu came in third place in JV Lincoln Douglas Debate while debating the resolution “in a democracy, voting ought to be compulsory.”

Meanwhile, the team of Luke Tolman and Nathaniel Schwamm came in third place in Varsity Public Forum Debate while debating the resolution “unilateral military force by the United States is justified to prevent nuclear proliferation.”
