MORRIS PLAINS, NJ - The Millburn High School Girls Cross Country teams had nothing but good luck on Friday the 13th running away with wins across the board at the Greystone Invitational. 

The varsity team's 56 points defeated rivalry Montclair by 29 points and downed Union City High School and Randolph.   Senior veteran Remi Haggerty led the Millers with a fourth place overall at 20.02.98.   Strong performances by sophomore Aoife Weiss, taking 10th in 20.45.81.  Freshman Daniela van Roon came in 12th place at 20.51.13.  Senior Katelyn Zegas came in 14th place with 21.03.28.  Kate Madrawski also factored in Millburn’s team score with 21:16.97 placing 19th overall.  Juniors Carly Orent finished 22.06.72 and Isabel Turner at 22.14.72.  The top five runners received medals, and the team took home first place trophy.
The JV girls dominated their race,  actually running an extra half mile on the new course, with sophomore Sarah VonBevern winning the race at 24.15.12. Millburn ran the leaderboard with sophomores Isabella Song placing 2nd at 24:21.74 and  Ashley Bush in 3rd place at 24:26.30.  Senior Olivia Stack placed in the top five which contributed to the overall incredible score of 17 at 24:47.66.  Joanne Kim a sophomore placed 6th right behind Stack in 24:53.14.  Lauren Kerner paced 9th place, also a sophomore in 25:03.16. Senior Betsy Muller finished in 25:04.34.  The JV team took the crown downing West Essex and Montclair. 

The Millburn girls next compete on Saturday, October 21 at the Essex County Class Meet at Branch Brook Park.
