Millburn High School Quiz Bowl Team Succeeds at Regional History Bowl

RIDGEWOOD, NJ - The Millburn High School Quiz Bowl team, coached by Mr. Peter Urban for the past 30 years, attends numerous local and national trivia tournaments. This weekend, the team participated in the National History Bee and Bowl in Ridgewood, New Jersey.

The tournament, held at Ridgewood High School, is one of many around the country designed to test students’ knowledge of US and world history. In the individual History Bee event, sophomore Michael Tai made it to the semifinals round, followed by classmates Satyen Gupta and Elliot Sotnick in quarterfinals.

In the team-based History Bowl, Millburn’s “A” team made the quarterfinals round after being undefeated in prelims, while its “B” team advanced to octofinals. All members of the team qualified to the History Bee and Bowl National Tournament in Washington, D.C. held in spring.
