MILLBURN, NJ - The Millburn Library turf field will finally be open for business this weekend.

The Millburn Recreation Department will officially open the field on Saturday, Nov. 16 with a ribbon-cutting ceremony. The ceremony will take place at 11:45 a.m. Athletes from each sport the field is lined for will be included in the cermony, and will be standing alongside Millburn Township and Board of Education Officials.

In addition to the ribbon cutting ceremony, the following sporting events scheduled for the day.

  • 8:30 – 10:30 a.m. Junior Lacrosse
  • 11:00 – 11:45 a.m. Recreation 1st & 2nd grade soccer
  • 11:45 a.m. – 12 p.m.  Ribbon Cutting Ceremony
  • 12:00 – 12:45 p.m. Recreation 1st & 2nd grade soccer
  • 1:00 – 2:00 p.m.  Recreation Field Hockey
  • 2:15 – 4:30 p.m.  Millburn Soccer Club

 In case of inclement weather or if field completion is delayed, the Turf Field Grand Opening will occur the next week, on Saturday, Nov. 23.

As the library will be open on Nov. 16, attnedees are asked to park in either the commuter section of the Library Lot #9, in the Millburn Train Station Commuter Lot # 7 or behind the Millburn Middle School and use the pedestrian bridge to get to the Library Field.
