MILLBURN, NJ - The Millburn Municipal Alliance Committee (MMAC) will be hosting an Evening of Conversation on March 26 at the Millburn Free Public Library.
The program is designed to encourage teens, parents, educators and other community members to have an open dialogue about issues concerning mental health and substance abuse issues.
The program will open with an interactive performance by the Mental Health Players which will highlight important topics such as stress, anxiety, how to manage technology and how to communicate concerns about mental health and substance abuse.
Audience members will be encouraged to make suggestions as the actors improvise possible ways to handle the situations.
Following the performance, a panel of community partners will continue the dialogue and discuss issues that families are facing. MMAC is grateful to have participation from the Millburn Police Department, ADAPT, and Partners in Prevention along with other community resources.
MMAC is a community-based organization dedicated to providing education and prevention programs for people of all ages.
The organization is focused on increasing awareness of the risks of underage drinking, substance abuse, tobacco use and mental health issues to help build a safer and healthier community. This program seeks to empower families to discuss issues of drugs, alcohol and mental health that may affect them or friends around them.
