MILLBURN, NJ - The Millburn varsity boys' basketball team will open its season Friday night at West Orange.

The Millers are coming off a 22-5 season that concluded with a loss to Plainfield in the NJSIAA sectional quarterfinals.

Senior 6-1 guard Max Jacobs, who scored 17 points per game, is the leading returning scorer for this year's squad. Jacobs made a shade better than 50 percent of his shots last season, when he also buried 46 3-pointers and 80 percent of his foul shots.

Jacobs will be looked to for leadership. The other four members of last season's Millers' starting lineup have all graduated.

Following Friday's opener, Millburn will play its first home game Monday at 7 p.m. against West Essex.
