On May 23, 2017, Millburn Police responded to the Louis Vuitton store at The Mall at Short Hills on 2 theft reports. Louis Vuitton personnel report on May 12, 2017, a black male wearing a black hat, grey jacket, and black jeans concealed 3 handbags valued at $7340.00 in a bag and left the store without making payment. 

On May 23, 2017, a black male wearing a black varsity jacket with the word “Tokyo”, green khaki pants, and tan boots concealed a belt valued at $490.00 on his waist and left the store without making payment. Both incidents are under investigation by the Millburn Police Detective Bureau. 

On May 24, 2017, Millburn Police Officer Tavares responded to 224 Millburn Ave on a theft report. The victim reports on May 19, 2017, between 10:30 am -3:15 pm unknown actor/s took a Fedex package containing a Lord and Taylor item valued at $180.00 from the front of her apartment door. The incident is under investigation by the Millburn Police Detective Bureau.

On May 24, 2017, Millburn Police Officer Manuyag stopped a 2014 Jeep Grand Cherokee on JFK Pkwy near the mall for driving without headlights. The investigation led to the arrest of 22-year-old Charleke Orane out of Newburgh, NY for shoplifting and hindering. Rasheen Stewart, age 22 out of Brooklyn, was arrested for forgery and credit card fraud. Turney Wright, age 24 out of Brooklyn, was arrested for forgery. All three individuals were released on summonses.  

On May 24, 2017, Millburn Police Officer Barbosa responded to Victoria Secrets at The Mall at Short Hills when a bag containing Victoria Secrets merchandise was found in a parking lot. The merchandise was determined to have been purchased with a counterfeit $100.00 bill. The incident is under investigation by the Millburn Police Detective Bureau. 

On May 25, 2017, Millburn Police Officer O’Neill responded to a Hartshorn Drive residence on a burglary report. A contractor states he pulled up to one of his sites and saw 2 men taking trim from the site and loading it on their truck. The investigation led to the arrest of 52-year-old Anthony Cherry out of Vauxhall for burglary and theft. Mr. Cherry was remanded to the Essex County Correctional Facility. The incident is under investigation by the Millburn Police Detective Bureau. 

On May 25, 2017, Millburn Police Officer Barbosa stopped a 2005 Acura TL on Rt 124 near the mall for having no front plate and tinted windows. The 27-year-old driver, ONeil Swaby out of Irvington, had an outstanding traffic warrant out of Dover. Mr. Swaby was placed under arrest and issued a summons for driving with a suspended license and having no front plate. Mr. Swaby was released with a new court date.

On May 26, 2017, Millburn Police Officers Freem and Manuyag responded to Bloomingdales on an employee being detained for theft. The employee, 19-year-old Ray Joseph out of Vauxhall, ran from Bloomingdale's security and was pursued on foot by Officers Freem and Manuyag. Mr. Joseph was located hiding under a stairwell at 101 JFK Pkwy and was placed under arrest. Mr. Joseph had taken 23 pairs of shoes valued at $8470.00 from the store and concealed them in his vehicle. Mr. Joseph was charged with shoplifting, possession of a controlled dangerous substance (marijuana), and possession of drug paraphernalia. Mr. Joseph was released on a summons. 

On May 27, 2017, Millburn Police Officer Lanni responded to Taylor Park on a theft report. The victim reports between 6-6:55 pm an unknown actor took his iPhone 7 from the basketball court area. The incident is under investigation by the Millburn Police Detective Bureau.

On May 29, 2017, Millburn Police Officer Hunt observed 2 vehicles in the Sunoco gas station at 3:11 am and conducted a stop. The investigation led to the arrest of 24-year-old Arthur Fields 4th out of Newark on an outstanding traffic warrant. Mr. Fields was released with a new court date.

On May 29, 2017, Millburn Police Officer McMillan responded to Neiman Marcus on a theft report. Neiman Marcus personnel report a black female approximately 25 years of age wearing a denim jacket took 3 articles of clothing valued at $570.00 and left the store without making payment. The incident is under investigation by the Millburn Police Detective Bureau.

On May 29, 2017, Millburn Police Officer McMillan responded to Bloomingdales on a credit card fraud report. Bloomingdale's personnel report 32-year old Melinda Joseph out of Manhattan used 3 fraudulent credit cards for purchases valued at $4743.79. Ms. Joseph was placed under arrest and charged with theft by deception and credit card fraud before being released on a summons. Terrell Baker, age 28 out of Jamaica, NY, accompanied Ms. Joseph and was placed under arrest on an outstanding traffic warrant out of Teaneck. Mr. Baker was released with a new court date.
