Millburn Police Department Investigating Motor Vehicle Theft from Victim's Driveway

On May 16, 2017 Millburn Police Officer Crawn responded to the area of J lot at The Mall at Short Hills on a report by Louis Vuitton personnel of a theft. Sharod Saunders, age 20 out of Irvington, was located and arrested after the investigation showed he took a $415.00 belt without making payment. Mr. Saunders was released with a summons.

On May 16, 2017 Millburn Police Officer Kostovski responded to the Apple store at The Mall at Short Hills on a theft report. Apple personnel report a white male wearing a Yankees sweatshirt, cargo shorts, and white sneakers concealed a Microsoft Office Software box valued at $229.95 in his shorts pocket and left the store without making payment. The incident is under investigation by the Millburn Police Detective Bureau.

On May 16, 2017 Millburn Police Officer Kostovski responded to the Sidney Thomas store at The Mall at Short Hills on a credit card fraud report. Sidney Thomas personnel report 22 year old Azeb Berhane out of Brooklyn used a counterfeit license and credit card to open an account with the intention of purchasing a $9000.00 Rolex watch. Ms. Berhane was placed under arrest and charged with credit card fraud, hindering, and exhibiting a counterfeit document. Ms. Berhane was issued a summons and released.

On May 16, 2017 Millburn Police Officers Royce and Salemi stopped a 2007 Dodge Charger on Rt 124 near Kings for having no front plate. The investigation led to the arrest of 20 year old Brandon Bauman out of Springfield for possession of a controlled dangerous substance (marijuana), and possession of a counterfeit document. Mr. Bauman was issued a summons and released.

On May 17, 2017 Millburn Police Officer Aliotta stopped a 2006 Audi A4 at the mall for tinted windows and a license plate obstruction. The investigation led to the arrest of 26 year old Omar Melendez, 23 year old Cristian Perez-Concepcion, 25 year old Koamivi Kpama, and 25 year old Stanley Aquino all from Newark for possession of a controlled dangerous substance (marijuana). Mr. Aquino was also charged with forgery for passing counterfeit money at Macys. All 4 individuals were released with a summons.

On May 17, 2017 Millburn Police Officer Barbosa stopped a 2011 Kia on South Orange/White Oak Ridge when his license plate reader indicated the driver had a suspended license. The investigation led to the arrest of the 32 year old driver Kibirrah Webb out of Orange for 3 outstanding traffic warrants out of Orange. Ms. Webb was issued a summons and released with a new court date.

On May 17, 2017 Millburn Police Officer Aliotta responded to the Apple store at The Mall at Short Hills on a theft report. Apple personnel report 36 year old Brian Caputo out of Rockaway took a pair of headphones valued at $349.95 and left the store without making payment. Mr. Caputo was placed under arrest and charged with shoplifting before being released on a summons.

On May 18, 2017 Millburn Police Officer Barbosa responded to headquarters on a theft report. A Hopatcong resident reports between 7:00-7:30 pm an unknown actor took his wallet he had put on the side of the basketball court at Taylor Park. The wallet contained $28.00 in cash, identification, and credit cards. The incident is under investigation by the Millburn Police Detective Bureau.

On May 20, 2017 Millburn Police Officer McMillan responded to the Sephora store at The Mall at Short Hills on a theft report. Sephora personnel report 30 year old Krystle Romanella out of Montclair concealed 9 articles valued at $287.00 in her purse and left the store without making payment. Ms. Romanella was placed under arrest and charged with shoplifting before being released with a summons.

On May 21, 2017 Millburn Police Officer Pinero responded to the Gucci store at The Mall at Short Hills on a theft report. Gucci personnel report a black male wearing a black bandana and all black clothing accompanied by a black female wearing a pink bandana, large sunglasses, and a pink backback each took a belt valued at $395.00 and concealed them before leaving the store. The incident is under investigation by the Millburn Police Detective Bureau.

On May 21, 2017 Millburn Police Officer McMillan responded to the Burberry store at The Mall at Short Hills on a theft report. A patron reports accidentally leaving her Omega watch valued at $3950.00 in the store, and upon returning could not locate it. The investigation led to the arrest of 32 year old Bridgette Bentley out of Plainfield for theft. Ms. Bentley was placed under arrest and charged with theft before being released on a summons.

On May 22, 2017 Millburn Police Officer Lipke responded to a Western Drive residence on a report of a stolen vehicle. The victim reports sometime overnight unknown actor/s took his 2016 Audi A4 from his driveway. The incident is under investigation by the Millburn Police Detective Bureau.

On May 22, 2017 Millburn Police Officer Nacim responded to Great Hills/Troy Drive on a motor vehicle accident. The investigation led to the arrest of 53 year old Peter Kelly out of Short Hills for driving under the influence and leaving the scene of an accident. Mr. Kelly was issued summonses and released.
