Millburn Police Department Investigating Multiple Burglaries to a Motor Vehicle

On June 13, 2017 Millburn Police Officer Nacim stopped a 2000 Toyota Camry at Essex/Lackawanna for being unregistered and having a brake light out. The 21 year old driver, Tyre Graves out of Irvington, was placed under arrest on an outstanding Irvington criminal warrant.  Mr. Graves was issued summonses and turned over to the Irvington Police Department.

On June 13, 2017 Millburn Police Officer Laverty responded to the Short Hills Circle on a burglary to vehicle report. The resident reports sometime overnight unknown actor/s damaged both her driver side and rear door lock of her 2012 Ford Van. Nothing appears to have been taken. The incident is under investigation by the Millburn Police Detective Bureau.

On June 13, 2017 Millburn Police Officer Recinos responded to a Glen Ave residence on a theft of a vehicle report. The resident reports sometime over the past week unknown actor/s took his 2007 Volkswagen Beetle from the driveway. The incident is under investigation by the Millburn Police Detective Bureau.

On June 13, 2017 Millburn Police Officer Wichelns responded to Walgreens on a theft report. Walgreens personnel report 38 year old Lakeisha Alexander concealed 2 items valued at $6.38 in a bag and left the store without making payment. Ms. Alexander was placed under arrest and issued a summons for shoplifting before being released.

On June 15, 2017 Millburn Police Officer Laverty responded to the Jimmy Choo store at The Mall at Short Hills on a theft report that occurred on June 14, 2017. Jimmy Choo personnel report a black male wearing all white clothing and carrying a black bag concealed a handbag valued at $1450.00 in his bag and left the store without making payment.  The incident is under investigation by the Millburn Police Detective Bureau.

On June 15, 2017 Millburn Police Officer Laverty responded to headquarters on a theft report. A Main St resident reports on June 2, 2017 between 9:00 am -12:10 pm a white female in her 50’s took a fedex package containing 3 dresses valued at $256.97 from the vestibule of her apartment complex. . The incident is under investigation by the Millburn Police Detective Bureau.

On June 15, 2017 Millburn Police Officer Wichelns stopped a 2001 Pontiac on Wyoming/Cypress after it failed to observe the red traffic light at Millburn/Wyoming. The investigation led to the arrest of the 27 year old driver Jerry Coriolan out of West Orange on an outstanding traffic warrant out of Roselle Park. Mr. Coriolan was issued a summons and released with a new court date.

On June 16, 2017 Millburn Police Officer Aliotta stopped a 2011 Honda Civic on JFK Pkwy north for a view obstruction. The investigation led to the arrest of the 25 year old driver Kaasim Onque out of Newark on an outstanding traffic warrant out of Newark. Mr. Onque was issued a summons and released with a new court date.

On June 17, 2017 at 12:51 am Millburn Police Officer Salemi stopped a 2003 Pontiac on Crest Drive for an ordinance violation. The investigation led to the arrest of 27 year old Jennel Williams out of Newark for possession of a controlled dangerous substance (marijuana) and possession of drug paraphernalia. Ms. Williams was issued a summons and released.

On June 17, 2017 Millburn Police Officer Aliotta responded to Neiman Marcus on a theft report. Neiman Marcus personnel report a white male with a ponytail and wearing glasses took 2 pairs of shoes valued at $1840.00, concealed them in a bag, and left the store without making payment.  The incident is under investigation by the Millburn Police Detective Bureau.

On June 17, 2017 Millburn Police Officer Crawn responded to a Sinclair residence on a theft of a motor vehicle report. The resident reports between 4:35-5:55 pm unknown actor/s took his 2016 Mercedes Benz GL450 from his driveway. The incident is under investigation by the Millburn Police Detective Bureau.

On June 17, 2017 Millburn Police Officer Kostovski responded to Whitney Road on a report of a motor vehicle crash. The investigation led to the arrest of 55 year old Mindy Palin out of Short Hills for driving under the influence and leaving the scene of an accident. Ms. Palin was issued summonses and released.

On June 18, 2017 Millburn Police Officer Crawn responded to the Free People store at The Mall at Short Hills on a theft report. Free People personnel report the theft of 4 articles of clothing valued at $344.00.  The incident is under investigation by the Millburn Police Detective Bureau.

On June 18, 2017 Millburn Police Officer Aliotta responded to Trader Joe’s on a theft report that occurred on June 17, 2017. The patron reports accidentally leaving her cell phone, driver’s license, and credit cards in her cart while she shopped. The patron reports unknown actor/s took the items and attempted to use her credit card at Target however it was declined. The incident is under investigation by the Millburn Police Detective Bureau.

On June 19, 2017 Millburn Police Officer Crawn responded to a Clinton Ave residence on a burglary to a motor vehicle report. The resident reports sometime overnight unknown actor/s damaged his driver side door lock of his 2006 Jeep in his driveway. No entry was gained. The incident is under investigation by the Millburn Police Detective Bureau.

Residents are reminded to keep their vehicles locked and to report suspicious vehicles and persons to the Millburn Police Department.
