Millburn Police Department Investigating Pair of Residential Burglaries

On March 28, 2018 Millburn Police Officer Goldfarb responded to the Union Police Department on a warrant arrest. Robert Kopik, age 41 of Springfield, was placed under arrest on an outstanding criminal warrant and remanded to the Essex County Correctional Facility.

On March 28, 2018 Millburn Police Officer Hunt responded to a Quaker Road residence on a residential burglary. The resident reports an unknown actor/s entered the house by breaking a glass window of the kitchen door between 12:20-2:50 pm and proceeded to ransack the master bedroom. It is unknown at this time what was taken. The incident is under investigation by the Millburn Police Detective Bureau.

On March 29, 2018 Millburn Police Officer Manuyag responded to the Long Hill Township Police Department on a warrant arrest. Damon Taylor, age 41 of Newark, was placed under arrest on outstanding criminal warrants and remanded to the Essex County Correctional Facility.

On March 29, 2018 Millburn Police Officer Wichelns responded to Millburn/Main on a motor vehicle crash report. The investigation led to the arrest of 33 year old Sebastian Caisaguano-Arbole of Hillside for driving under the influence. Mr. Caisaguano-Arbole was issued a summons and released.

On March 30, 2018 Millburn Police Officer Nacim responded to the Somerset County Correctional Facility on a warrant arrest. Michael Rush, age 51 of Morristown, was placed under arrest on an outstanding criminal warrant and remanded to the Essex County Correctional Facility.

On March 30, 2018 Millburn Police Officer Laverty responded to the Irvington Police Department on a warrant arrest. Caroline Britt, age 49 of Irvington, was placed under arrest on an outstanding criminal warrant and remanded to the Essex County Correctional Facility.

On March 31, 2018 Millburn Police Officer Crawn responded to the Hollister store at The Mall at Short Hills on a theft report. Hollister personnel report 21 year old Shaquejah Wilson-Jones of Newark concealed $152.31 worth of clothing in her purse and left the store without making payment. Ms. Wilson-Jones was placed under arrest and charged with shoplifting before being released on a summons.

On March 31, 2018 Millburn Police Officer Shanahan responded to the Hollister store at The Mall at Short Hills on a theft report. Hollister personnel report 53 year old Solomon Davis of Newark concealed a jacket valued at $69.95 and left the store without making payment. Mr. Davis was placed under arrest and charged with shoplifting before being remanded to the Essex County Correctional Facility.

On April 1, 2018 Millburn Police Officer Royce stopped a 2002 Saturn SL1 on Millburn/Main for speeding. The investigation led to the arrest of 64 year old William Sumner of South Orange for driving under the influence. Mr. Sumner was issued a summons and released.

On April 1, 2018 Millburn Police Officer Royce stopped a 2015 Dodge Ram for maintenance of lamps. The investigation led to the arrest of 33 year old Sammy Rojas of Kearny for possession of a controlled dangerous substance (marijuana). Mr. Rojas was issued a summons and released.

On April 2, 2018 Millburn Police Officer Freem responded to a Great Hills Terrace residence on a theft report. The resident reports noticing a 6 foot tall bronze/copper statue valued at $15,000.00 in his side yard was missing. The incident is under investigation by the Millburn Police Detective Bureau.

On April 2, 2018 Millburn Police Officer Barbosa responded to the Gucci store at The Mall at Short Hills on a theft report. Gucci personnel report a black female wearing a baseball cap, black vest, grey sweater, and jeans took 2 handbags valued at $2710.00, concealed them in a plastic bag and left the store without making payment. The incident is under investigation by the Millburn Police Detective Bureau.

On April 2, 2018 Amara Toure, age 22 of Newark, was placed under arrest by the New Jersey State Police on outstanding Millburn criminal warrants. Ms. Toure was remanded to the Essex County Correctional Facility.
