Millburn Police Investigating Multiple Residential Break-ins

On March 27, 2017, Millburn Police Officer Wichelns responded to the intersection of Old Short Hills Rd/Kenilworth on a motor vehicle crash report. The investigation led to the arrest of 27-year-old Lucky Ikediego out of Orange for driving under the influence. Mr. Ikediego was issued a summons and released.

On March 28, 2017, Millburn Police Officer Marone responded to Shoprite on Main St on a theft report. Shoprite personnel report a black male wearing a black hat and grey hooded sweatshirt concealed 10 cans of Enfamil valued at $196.00 in a bag and left the store without making payment. The incident is under investigation by the Millburn Police Detective Bureau. 

On March 30, 2017, at approximately 3:06 am Millburn Police Officer Salemi stopped a 1996 Toyota Tercel for a view obstruction. The investigation led to the arrest of the 20-year-old driver Wesley Rivera and 23-year-old passenger Steven Olivero-Traverzo both out of Perth Amboy for possession of a controlled dangerous substance (marijuana). Both individuals were released on a summons.

On March 30, 2017, Millburn Police Officer Royce stopped a 2003 Honda Accord on Rt 24 East/Hobart Gap Rd for an inoperable headlight. The investigation led to the arrest of the 30-year-old driver Germaine Baugh-Dougal out of Newark for possession of a controlled dangerous substance (marijuana) and an outstanding Irvington traffic warrant. Mr. Baugh-Dougal was issued a summons and released after posting bail.

On March 31, 2017, Millburn Police Officer Kostovski responded to a Troy Drive residence on a burglary report. The resident reports between 5-9:00 pm on March 30, 2017, unknown actor/s damaged a basement door and gained entry. Unknown if anything was taken at this time. The incident is under investigation by the Millburn Police Detective Bureau. 

On April 1, 2017, Millburn Police Officer Royce stopped a 2000 Nissan Maxima on Old Short Hills Rd/Exeter for maintenance of lamps. The investigation led to the arrest of 19-year-old Anastasia Williams out of East Orange for an outstanding Newark traffic warrant. Ms. Williams was released with a new court date.

On April 1, 2017, Millburn Police Officer Recinos responded to the Stuart Weitzman store at The Mall at Short Hills on a theft report. Stuart Weitzman personnel report a dark skinned male wearing a black jacket and pants concealed a handbag valued at $695.00 in a shopping bag and left the store without making payment.  The incident is under investigation by the Millburn Police Detective Bureau. 

On April 2, 2017, Millburn Police Officer Wichelns responded to a Forest Drive residence on a burglary report. The resident reports returning home at 5:45 pm and discovering the back door had been forced open and jewelry missing from a bedroom. The incident is under investigation by the Millburn Police Detective Bureau. 

On April 3, 2017, Millburn Police Officer Laverty responded to the Louis Vuitton store at The Mall at Short Hills on a theft report. Louis Vuitton personnel report a belt valued at $575.00 was taken from a display. The same 2 actors, later identified as 19-year-old Nakiem Boykin and 20-year-old Kevin Antoine both from Newark then stole $618.50 worth of merchandise from Polo. Mr. Boykin and Antoine then fled onto the Canoe Brook Country Club golf course where they were apprehended by Detectives Delgado and Derosa. Additional stolen property valued at $207.00 was recovered from Bloomingdales. Mr. Boykin was arrested and charged with receiving stolen property and released on a summons. Mr. Antoine was arrested and charged with receiving stolen property and remanded to the Essex County Correctional  Facility.
