Millburn Police Investigating Theft of Two Vehicles Overnight

On November 21, 2017 Millburn Police Officer McMillan responded to Macys on a theft report. Macys personnel report employee Jasmine Belton, age 26 out of Newark, gave $1320.33 worth of unpaid merchandise in shopping bags to 26 year old Kianai Lockhart out of Newark and 42 year old Kimberly Ogburn out of East Orange who left the store. All 3 individuals were placed under arrest and charged with shoplifting and theft by deception and released on summonses.

On November 21, 2017 Millburn Police Officer Recinos responded to Neiman Marcus on a theft report. Neiman Marcus personnel report 35 year old Alberto Torres out of Newark concealed 43 items valued at $16,030.00 in a bag and left the store without making payment. Mr. Torres was placed under arrest and charged with shoplifting. Mr. Torres was remanded to the Essex County Correctional Facility.

On November 22, 2017 Millburn Police Officer Lanni stopped a 2011 Chevrolet Malibu on White Oak Ridge/Hartshorn after receiving an alert the registration was suspended. The investigation led to the arrest of 27 year old Carmella Smith out of Irvington on an outstanding traffic warrant out of Irvington. Ms. Smith was issued a summons and released to the Irvington Police Department.

On November 22, 2017 Millburn Police Officer Pinero responded to the Toms River Police Department on a warrant arrest. Matthew Diaz, age 48 out of Brick, was placed under arrest on an outstanding  criminal warrant and remanded to the Essex County Correctional Facility.

On November 23, 2017 Millburn Police Officer Smeraldo responded to Walgreens on a theft report. Walgreens personnel report a black male in his 40’s carrying a black duffel bag concealed 29 articles valued at $201.93 in his bag and left the store without making payment. The incident is under investigation by the Millburn Police Detective Bureau.

On November 23, 2017 Millburn Police Officer Royce stopped a 2007 Honda Civic on JFK Pkwy North near the mall for an inoperable headlight. The investigation led to the arrest of 21 year old Fenderson Victor and 21 year old Sanca Nerestant both out of Hillside for possession of a controlled dangerous substance (marijuana) and receiving stolen property when they were found to have stolen items valued at $90.98 from Macys. Mr. Victor and Ms. Nerestant were issued summonses and released.

On November 24, 2017 Millburn Police Officer Royce stopped a 2010 Honda Civic on Rt 124/Broad St for having multicolored lamps. The investigation led to the arrest of 34 year old Alex Garcia out of East Orange for unlawful taking of a motor vehicle and an outstanding traffic warrant out of Newark. Mr. Garcia was issued a summons and released after posting bail.

On November 24, 2017 Millburn Police Officer Salemi stopped a 2018 Toyota Corrola on Cherry Lane/South Orange Ave for making an improper turn. The investigation led to the arrest of 38 year old William Able out of Newark on an outstanding traffic warrant. Mr. Able was issued a summons and released after posting bail.

On November 25, 2017 Millburn Police Officer Salemi stopped a 2004 Nissan Maxima on South Orange/Brookside for speeding. The investigation led to the arrest of 19 year old Roodly Ovil out of Maplewood for possession of a controlled dangerous substance (marijuana) and possession of drug paraphernalia. Mr. Ovil was issued a summons and released.

On November 25, 2017 Millburn Police Officer Royce stopped a 2010 Nissan Altima at the mall for having a temporary registration belonging to a Honda. The investigation led to the arrest of 38 year old Katrina Young out of Newark for tampering with a public record. Ms. Young was issued a summons and released.

On November 25, 2017 Millburn Police Officer Crawn responded to Bloomingdales on a theft report. Bloomingdales personnel report a black female wearing a black jacket with rhinestones and a burgundy hooded sweatshirt concealed a jacket valued at $750.00 in a bag and left the store without making payment. The incident is under investigation by the Millburn Police Detective Bureau.

On November 25, 2017 Millburn Police Officer Royce stopped a 2008 Dodge Caliber on Rt 124/Cleveland for having no front plate. The investigation led to the arrest of 18 year old Jason Gregory out of Newark on an outstanding Union traffic warrant, and 18 year old Devion Lacy and 18 year old Rose Kissi both out of Hillside for possession of a controlled dangerous substance (marijuana). Mr. Gregory was turned over to the Union Police Department. Mr. Lacy and Ms. Kissi were released on a summons.

On November 26, 2017 Millburn Police Officer Aliotta stopped 21 year old Kevin Antoine out of Newark at the bus stop near the mall after Louis Vuitton reported a theft. The investigation led to the arrest of Mr. Antoine for shoplifting. Mr. Antoine was issued a summons and remanded to the Essex County Correctional Facility.

On November 27, 2017 Millburn Police Officer McMillan responded to Bloomingdales on a theft report. Bloomingdales personnel report 23 year old Marcelo Carpio out of Elizabeth cut the sensor of purse valued at $298.00, concealed the purse under his shirt, and left the store without making payment. Mr. Carpio was placed under arrest and issued a summons before being released.

On November 27, 2017 Millburn Police Officer Wichelns responded to the Paterson Police Department on a warrant arrest. Sediqua Brown, age 36 out of Newark, was placed under arrest on an outstanding criminal warrant and remanded to the Essex County Correctional Facility.

On November 28, 2017 Millburn Police Officer Hunt responded to a Sagamore Road residence on a report of two motor vehicle thefts. The resident reports sometime overnight unknown actor/s took a 2017 Jeep Grand Cherokee and 2016 Ford Explorer from the driveway. The incident is under investigation by the Millburn Police Detective Bureau.
