On September 10, 2019, Millburn Police Officer Kostovski responded to a Millburn Ave residence on a motor vehicle theft report. The resident reports at approximately 3:00 p.m. unknown actor/s took his 2018 Honda Civic that was parked at the intersection of Millburn/Myrtle. The incident is under investigation by the Millburn Police Detective Bureau.
On September 10, 2019, Millburn Police Officer Royce stopped a 2015 Nissan Altima on Rt 24 West near the mall for having tinted front windows. The investigation led to the arrest of 34-year-old Jose Sarmiento of Elizabeth for possession of a controlled dangerous substance (marijuana) and possession of drug paraphernalia. Mr. Sarmiento was issued a summons and released.
On September 11, 2019, Millburn Police Officer Kostovski responded to the Sephora store at The Mall at Short Hills on a theft report. Sephora personnel report 28-year-old Myeasha Tillery of Newark concealed 3 items valued at $92.00 in a shopping bag and left the store without making payment. Ms. Tillery was placed under arrest and found to have additional stolen property from the Forever 21 and Abercrombie and Fitch stores. Ms. Tillery was issued a summons and released.
On September 13, 2019, Millburn Police Officer Crawn stopped a 2003 Toyota Avalon on Rt 124 near Kings for an inoperable headlight and no front plate. The investigation led to the arrest of 19 year old Tariq Salameh of Union on an outstanding criminal and traffic warrant out of Union. Mr. Salameh was issued a summons and turned over to the Union Police Department.
On September 15, 2019, Millburn Police Officer Goldfarb responded to headquarters on a theft report. The victim reports she was dining at Primo Mercato at The Mall at Short Hills on September 14, 2019 at approximately 6:15 pm when an unknown actor/s took her wallet from her purse. The victim reports several fraudulent purchases were then made at the mall. The wallet contained $200.00 cash, credit cards, and identification. The incident is under investigation by the Millburn Police Detective Bureau.
