MILLBURN, NJ - The Millburn Pool closed its gates for the final time Monday as the 2017 season came to an end. Around 750 patrons and guests visited today for one last swim. This was one of the smoothest seasons since manager John Breheney came to the Millburn Pool in 2013.

Overall, the pool brought in around 29,000 people this summer, which was about 7,000 less than the 2016 season. This was most likely due to the cooler temperatures during the month of August. Since the pool is only heated by the sun, water temperatures could reach as cold as 65° on brisk days. However, the pool still had its busy days, with the busiest day being a weekend in June when about 1,200 people attended in a single day.

This summer was also assistant manager Erin Hernon's first working on the management team. She has been working at the pool for about 10 summers. Hernon's sister, Kelly Hernon, also joined the team this summer as a Supervisor.

Registration for the 2018 season will open up in late February.
