MILLBURN, NJ - The Millburn Recreation Department hosted its in-town Boys Basketball Championships for the 2016-2017 season on Tuesday February 28th. 

In the first game, the Longhorns defeated the Pirates 34-30 to win the 7th-8th grade boys basketball championship. The Longhorns were led by Jackson Weber who had 10 points.  In the loss, the Pirates were led by Ethan Shapiro's 13 points.

For the 4th grade boys championship, the Jazz edged out the top-seeded Nets 27-25. The Jazz were led by Reece Rodriguez who had 13 points. Ander Berman led the Nets with 10 points in the loss.

The 5th seeded Hawks upset the 2nd seeded Nets in a 22-20 win to take the 5th grade boys championship. Noah Ravitz' 10 points for the Hawks led both teams in scoring while Zachary Lipton and Matthew Weiner each had 5 points to lead the Knicks.

In the final game of the night, the Rockets took the 6th grade boys championship with a 25-18 win over the Nuggets. Michael Exelbert scored 10 of his game high 13 points in the second half alone guiding the Rockets to the win. Drew Oppenheim led the Nuggets with 8 points, scoring all of those points in the fourth quarter.
