NEWARK, NJ – Millburn Recreation Department employee, Jennifer Lubisco, 33, of Millburn, has been charged with third degree theft, according to Acting Essex County Prosecutor Carolyn A. Murray. Lubisco has been employed by the city of Millburn for seven years as a customer service representative. On Wednesday, she was charged with stealing more than $500 from the municipality.
Between January 2011 and August 2012, approximately $8,000 was missing, an internal audit revealed, according to Assistant Prosecutor Sahil Kabse.
Lubisco was issued a summons, released, and was given a court date of April 18.
“Public service is always a position of trust. Any violation of that trust is taken seriously by this Office,” said Acting Prosecutor Murray, in a prepared statement. She commended Det. Alissa Vinci of the Essex County Prosecutor’s Office and Millburn Lieutenant Keith Laverty for their work on this case.
If convicted, Lubisco could face up to five years in New Jersey State Prison.
