A Moroccan theme inspired by The Clash’s iconic Rock the Casbah awaits attendees at this year’s Millburn Schools Rock, the annual fundraiser put on by The Education Foundation of Millburn-Short Hills.  Taking place on March 10 from 7-11PM at the Hilton Short Hills, the evening event includes dinner, drinks, entertainment, a silent auction and raffle prizes. Millburn and Short Hills residents and friends are invited to rock the night away while raising funds that will enhance the educational experience of our public school students. Millburn Schools Rock The Casbah is presented by Shannon Aronson, realtor, Keller Williams.

The sights, sounds and tastes of Morocco will infuse the event. Bold, jewel-toned colors of the east will decorate the space while belly dancing is performed, henna art is applied, Moroccan delicacies are presented and of course, New Jersey’s favorite cover band The Nerds plays Rock the Casbah, among other hit songs. The illustrious silent auction and raffle will include prizes such as sports tickets (US Open, NASCAR, Mets), Broadway and Paper Mill tickets, hotel stays, designer accessories, summer camp, and much more!

“We are always looking for fun, new ways to introduce Millburn parents to The Education Foundation,” says co-president Lauri Palomaki. “Millburn Schools Rock is our most popular event of the year because it offers parents a night out with friends old and new from all around town.” Robin Eichler, Lauri’s co-president, adds “we have the opportunity to introduce parents to the Ed Foundation and all the great work we do in the schools in an entertaining, social venue.”

Millburn Schools Rock is The Education Foundation of Millburn-Short Hills’ largest source of funding each year. Through its grant system, the organization funds programs, technology and equipment that enhance the educational experience of the students. Last year’s event helped fund such items as STEAM cycle courses at Millburn Middle School, cycle desks, STEAM programs, and kinesthetic classrooms at the elementary level, and robotics, adventure course and film studio upgrades at Millburn High School.

The Ed Foundation is thankful to Rock Star sponsors: Michelle Bergman, Bergman Law and Millburn/Short Hills Desi Club; Roadie sponsors: Santagata Landscaping, Investors Bank, Elaine Pruzon, realtor, Prominent Properties Sotheby's International Realty; Fan sponsors: Simon Westfall-Kwong, realtor, Keller Williams, Clifford Schob/Comprehensive Orthopaedics, PA and Fidelity Investments; and Photo booth sponsor: Hartmann Doherty Rosa Berman & Bulbulia, LLC.
