MILLBURN, NJ - Matt Grossman, star track/cross country athlete at Millburn High School took home the Wendy's High School Heisman Memorial Trophy on Friday for the state level. The award goes to a student who "never cuts corners," and is a leader in academics, athletics and the community. Grossman is a standout in both track and cross country and recognized as one of the top runners in the nation. He is headed to Princeton University in the fall to run for the Tigers.

To qualify, the student must have a GPA of 3.0 (B average) or better. Applicants also need to be proven leaders and role models within their school and community and participate in at least one of the 43 school sponsored sports recognized by the International Olympic Committee in the Summer and Winter Olympic Games or the National Federation of State High School Associations.

State Winners receives a silver medal, a Wendy's High School Heisman State Winner patch, a $50 Wendy’s gift card and a $1,000 college scholarship. The award is named after former college football player and coach John Heisman, is a prestigious award in American high-school athletics.
