WESTFIELD, NJ - The Millburn-Short Hills 12U baseball team took first place in Pool A of the Cal Ripken District 12 Tournament last week.

The Millers defeated Mountainside, 18-2, in the final game of Pool A play. Millburn went 3-1 in Pool A, with victories of 14-1 over Cranford Blue and 19-0 over Watchung Hills. Millburn-Short Hills' only loss was by a 13-12 score against South Orange-Maplewood.

Zach Lane and Henry Jacobs both hit home runs for the Millers' in their victory over Mountainside. Nav Zha and Rob Schneider each contributed three hits in the game for Millburn-Short Hills, and James Bergman had two hits and two RBI.

Millburn-Short Hills fell behind, 2-0, in the top of the first, but stormed back with eight runs in the bottom of the first to take control of the game.
