Here In Millburn - Short Hills we can find heroes throughout our neighborhoods.  For all you know, your next door neighbor might be one.  This is especially true if your neighbor is a member of the Millburn Short Hills Volunteer First Aid Squad.

This past Sunday, August 23rd. the hero volunteers of the Millburn - Short Hills Volunteer First Aid Squad took time out to show appreciation to their family members and loved ones, the heroes in their lives who rarely get noticed, by holding a “Family Appreciation Day Bar-B-Que”. This event was filled with those who wake up during the middle of the night when their loved one who gets up to respond to a call.  Family members who hold up dinner, are late leaving for important events, re-arrange vacations, or just missing the people in their lives who are there for you when we call 911.

The Bar-B-Que could not have been such a success if it weren’t for the the Squad’s President, Peter Broder, Chairperson Diego Ribadeneyra, along with Committee members Melissa Campbell, Zach Filzer, and Fred Ostry.

A very special “Thank You” must go out to all of the incredible businesses in Millburn Township who generously jumped at the chance to donate gifts and prizes towards the event.  They include:

Investors Bank at 249 Millburn Avenue, Charlie Brown's Fresh Grill, Millburn Deli, Thai House, Goldberg’s Famous Deli, Millburn Dinner, La Strada Nuova, The Mall at Short Hills, Footnotes, The Salad House by Cioffi, Millburn Pet and Wild Bird Shop, Avalon Salon for Hair and Nails, Sneaker Factory Running Center, Basilico Restaurant, Un Wined, Salon D’or Hair Fashions, Red Mango, Starbucks, Shala’s Gift Boutique, Oh My Gifts, High Gear Cycling of Millburn, Trend Consignment, Red Carpet Boutique, Ganny Russ Opticians, Bedazzled Jewelry, Jhanna Fine Jewelry, Massage Envy Spa, YB Fitness, Tower  Realty Group, Dave’s Liquor Mart, Julious Oksenhorn Fine Jewelers, Kings Super Market, ShopRite, Trader Joe’s, and Splurge Bakery.
