MILLBURN NJ – Next Sunday at Millburn Avenue and Spring Street, more than 150 vendors and artisans  will be setting up their stands for the Millburn Street Fair. Intercontinental food from tacos to funnel cakes will be available as well as fun games such as inflatable rides, a petting zoo,  pony walks, clowns, jugglers, and of course live music.

SHORT HILLS, NJ - On a hot summer night I found myself (again) at a neighborhood favorite in Short Hills, the Boxcar Bar and Grill.  Whilst at the bar enjoying a perfectly chilled glass of sauvignon blanc and a plate of Philly cheesesteak egg rolls, I ran into Boxcar's owner, Eric Linehan.

After catching up a bit, he told me about a new burger that was introduced this past ...

MILLBURN, NJ – Opening a new restaurant is no simple task, particularly if it intends to cater to an educated fine dining audience.  Though the competition for diners’ dollars in “the biz” is tough everywhere, it’s particularly risky for the fine dining establishment as the relative investment in construction, equipment, staff and ingredients is much higher than ...

Letter to TAP M/SH Editor: Former Millburn Township Board of Education President Endorses Upcoming Bond Referendum

September 22, 2016

Dear Editor,

As someone who was a member of the Board of Education at the time of the 2010 redistricting, I want to give some context that connects that event to the upcoming referendum vote on Tuesday September 27.  I want to reemphasize how painful the 2010 redistricting truly was.  We needed to move 75 kids out of the Glenwood School to alleviate the overcrowding there, and ...

You’re Only as Old as You Dress

“Do you think this is too young for me?” asked a voice from behind me. I turned from the dressing room door where my teenage daughter was trying on clothes.

The “this” in question was a super-clingy, lycra mini dress in a black and purple animal print.

The “me” who was asking, was a 40-something year-old mom.

I was, quite literally, at a loss for ...

Markets Hit Record Highs: Three Opportunities

In August, for the first time since 1999, all three major indices, the Dow, S&P, and the Nasdaq, hit a record high on the same day. It doesn’t feel like 1999. Today, investors fret about weak earnings growth, Brexit, the implications of negative interest rates cloaking much of the globe, and a volatile presidential campaign.

Yet, the market continues to grind higher, admittedly ...
