MILLBURN, NJ - Last week the Millburn Summer Swim Team competed in dual meets with losses to both Livingston and Berkeley Heights closing out the summer team regular season with a 2-6 record.
Despite many individual wins, Millburn was down a significant number of swimmers against Livingston on July 18, falling short with a score of 194 to 226. On July 20, Millburn was not able to complete the meet against Berkeley Heights due to inclement weather and thunder which stopped the meet during the relay races. The shortened meet left Millburn behind 206 to 217.
Despite the losses, Millburn swimmers ages 6 to 17 swam an incredible summer season filled with commitment, camaraderie, and fun. Millburn will be hosting the 2017 Divisionals swim meet for Division 2 teams which include Berkeley Heights, Livingston, Madison and Verona on July 24. There will be more than 300 swimmers competing, and the Millburn Summer Swim Team parent volunteers and Township Recreation Department will have all hands on deck to make the event an enjoyable one for all swimmers and guests.
On Thursday, July 27 the season will officially come to an end for those Millburn swimmers with qualifying times who will be competing among 4 NJ Divisions in New Providence at the Meet of Champions.
