On Sunday, despite the extreme heat, the Summit Premier Girls 04/05 Soccer team won the NJYS (NJ Youth Soccer) Cup U17 final game at a 9:15 a.m. game at the Jackson Justice Complex in south Jersey.  The score against Deptford Premier 04 was 2-0 at the half. Deptford came out fighting in the second half and scored, but Summit played stronger, finishing with a final score of 7-1.

The team is a combination of Summit and Millburn players, but Millburn did the scoring in this game, with three goals by Zoe Palomaki, two goals by Hannah Osur and one goal by Katie Grapkowski. Also pictured from Millburn are Erika Port and Uma Nagella.

In 2014, four of these girls won the Mid NJYS Flight 1 Under 9 Girls championship as on MSC's team Fury, and are still winning 8 years later.

The Summit Premier 04/05 team is coached by Dave Stapleton. He also coaches the Summit U15 06 girls, who won their state cup game Sunday as well.  Although Summit has been in the finals before, these are the first state championships for Summit soccer club — never before and now twice in one day!
