MILLBURN, NJ - Committeewoman Jodi Rosenberg announced a proclamation that March 2016 would be American Red Cross month in Millburn Township. In doing so, she presented American Red Cross Board Member Josh Howley, who grew up in Millburn, with the proclamation during a presentation at last week's Township Committee meeting.
In her address, she reminded the audience of the valuable contributions made by township residents Ed Borneman and Jack Clemence for their tireless efforts in overseeing and leading Millburn's extensive blood drives for many years. Borneman passed away last month and will be dearly missed by all.
Rosenberg talked about the many "everyday heroes" who are a part of the American Red Cross and their valued service in helping relieve human suffering, saving lives, providing shelter in the wake of disasters and assisting veterans and their families.
The resolution was followed by encouraging words to support this noble American institution and its humanitarian mission.
