Millburn Township News: Complete Streets Construction Update, Voting/Election Info, Leaf Collection Schedule


MILLBURN, NJ - Phase One of the Complete Streets construction is scheduled to continue through fall with an anticipated completion date sometime in November.  Main St., between Essex St. and Millburn Ave., is now open for vehicular and pedestrian traffic.  However, no left turns from Millburn Ave. to Main St., Essex St. to Main St. and Main St. to Essex are still in force.

Over the next week Flanagan Construction will be working on the following:

Beginning to demo roadway and install new sidewalks and curbs along the south side of Millburn Ave 
-Install drain inlets on the south side of Millburn Ave
-Preparing lighting conduits on the Southside of Millburn Ave
-Setting basalt pavers on Main Street 
-Preparing to install ADA ramps and curbing on Main Street corners

*Access to stores on the south side of Millburn Ave (from the corner of Main St and Millburn Ave to Häagen-Dazs) will periodically have limited access due to the demolition of sidewalks. If possible, please use backdoor access to stores.

Voting and Election Information

Any Millburn Township residents desiring to vote by mail can do so.  Essex County residents may apply for a mail-in ballot if you are a qualified and registered voter by written application to the Essex County Clerk's Office.  The deadline for such requests are seven (7) days prior to any and all elections (Primary, General, Municipal, School, etc.). A voter may also apply in person to the Essex County Clerk's office, or by authorized messenger, on any day up to 3:00 P.M. the day before an election. Applications are available at Millburn Town Hall or one can be mailed to you by calling the Millburn Clerks Office at (973) 564-7092.

If you are interested in registering to vote, please visit or Millburn Town Hall for the form. Last day to register to Vote for the 2016 General Election is October 18, 2016.

Leaf Collection

The 2016 Township of Millburn leaf collection schedule is publish here.  Leaf collection will begin on October 17 and will continue through December 31.  Dates for placing leaves on the street and collection times are scheduled in five zones, based on street names.  Please visit street listings to find your zone.

On July 11, 2018 Millburn Police Officer Shanahan stopped a 2014 Honda Accord on Millburn/Vauxhall for speeding. The investigation led to the arrest of 22 year old Lyes Yakoubi of Jersey City on an outstanding traffic warrant out of West Windsor.
