MILLBURN, NJ – Shred Day is an annual fundraiser sponsored by the Millburn Police Department to benefit the Millburn Benevolent Association (PBA). Police officers encourage residents to shred documents, rather than simply throw them in the garbage, to help prevent identity theft of personal identifiable information like social security and account numbers, which are often found on statements.
The PBA Local #34 is a civic organization comprised of 54 Police Officers that serve the residents of Millburn/Short Hills. PBA membership is committed to the prevention of crime, protection of life and property, enforcement of laws and ordinances and the safeguarding of constitutional rights and guarantees.
Shred Day will be held on May 21 at the Rimback Parking Lot (corner of Essex St. and Spring St.) from 9 a.m. to 12 p.m. Families can bring up to five shopping bags/boxes of material to be shredded. This event is only open to Millburn Township residents, no businesses, and identification is required.
Proceeds from fundraiser support the Local’s Charitable Fund, which supports many different nonprofit organizations in Millburn Township.
TAP Millburn/Short Hills (TAP M/SH) encourages all residents to participate and to support the brave men and women of the Millburn Police Department who protect the lives, property and rights of all residents in the township.
TAP M/SH is a proud supporter of the Millburn Police, the PBA and the generous gifts they make to our township charities. TAP M/SH will match all donations made by residents at the event, dollar for dollar, up to $1,000.
