  • Overnight on-street parking will be suspended tonight and tomorrow, March 13th and 14th.

  • Use caution in regards to decks and flat roofs. The snowfall predicted will impact these structures.

Millburn Township is providing the following update regarding the impending Nor’easter, expected to hit late tonight and throughout Tuesday.

It is expected at this time that the heaviest snow and highest winds will arrive in the morning and early afternoon. While heavy snow is expected for much of this time, snowfall rates of 2-4" per hour as well as gusty winds will lead to extensive blowing/drifting snow and blizzard conditions, especially from 8AM-12PM. Blowing/drifting snow will continue into the overnight coupled with a hard refreeze. Windy conditions may persist with a returning threat for snow showers heading into Wednesday, with gusts of 30-40 MPH.

These conditions offer a strong likelihood of power outages. Avoid downed wires, as it should be assumed they are live. To report an outage to JCP&L call 1-888-544-4877, or text OUT to 544487.

Generator Safety from JCP&L:

  • Never connect a generator directly to your home’s electrical system without isolating it from the power lines. This should be done by a qualified electrician.
  • Improperly connecting a generator could create a safety hazard in your home and for our workers.
  • Follow manufacturer’s instructions when using a home generator.

The Township will focus their efforts on snow removal. It is recommended that travel be suspended or significantly reduced during these conditions to ensure public safety.

Trash and recycling collections are suspended tomorrow.

Further updates will be posted as more information becomes available. Sign up for Notify Me on the Township website to receive alerts as they become available, and follow us on Twitter @MillburnTwp.
