Millburn Youth Set to Shine in Upcoming Production of The Wiz

MILLBURN, N.J. — Twenty-eight young performers will take center stage next week in the Front & Center for the Performing Arts production of The Wiz. The show, based on book by William F. Brown from the story “The Wonderful Wizard of Oz” by L. Frank Baum, features music and lyrics by Charles Brown. Friday, Saturday and Sunday these local thespians will tread the boards of the Woodland Theater in Maplewood.

Led by Renee Celeste, Julie Lira, Rodney Briscoe, Andrew Morrisey, Jacque Piro Donovan, the cast of 65 strong, look to bring this classic to life for audiences of all ages.

Art Director Renee Celeste said, “This timeless story has been told so many times and yet it is always so magical to have the chance to recreate it.  The music is so fantastic and the whole family will love it!”
