Millburn's Complete Streets Construction Update: A Look At The Week Ahead

MILLBURN, NJ - Main Street has been and will remain closed for approximately one (1) month. Please follow the detour (see below) in place. Pedestrian safety is of extreme importance during this process. Please adhere to all detours, both road and sidewalk, by staying out of cordoned off areas and construction sites at all times. 

The following tasks will begin the week of Monday July 18th: 
-The milling of Main Street between Essex Street and Millburn Avenue 
-Demolition of sidewalk and curbs will occur on Main Street with temporary sidewalk closures
-Concrete will be poured on Main Street along with curb and sidewalk demolition on Millburn Ave 

Businesses will remain open and accessible during construction.

DETOUR:
Main Street Northbound: at Millburn Ave turn right and proceed east until the intersection of Essex Street (Annie Sez), turn left and proceed west on Essex Street. At third traffic light, turn right and precede north on Main Street/Old Short Hills Road.

Main Street Southbound: at Essex Street turn right and proceed west until Douglas Street. Turn left on Douglas Street (Fire Station) and proceed south to Millburn Avenue. At Millburn Avenue, turn left and proceed west until first traffic light. At first traffic light, turn night and proceed south on Main Street.

Phase 1 of Complete Streets construction is expected to last through the fall with an anticipated completion date in November. The Downtown area will remain open for business and pedestrian foot traffic during construction.
