MILLBURN, NJ - Get ready to tap your feet and scream like a teenager (even dance in the aisles) when you see the hit musical Million Dollar Quartet. The rockabilly rhythms are guaranteed to keep you moving in your seat.

The fun begins with the opening number, Carl Perkins’ (‘Blue Suede Shoes”) performed by the multi-talented James Barry, who is also the music director in the production. The action really gets going with the second song, Jerry Lee Lewis’ “Real Wild Child”, performed by the incredibly versatile Nat Zegree. This very impressive young actor can play the “PIE-AN-UH” like no one I’ve ever seen; blindfolded, on his knees, upside down. His performance throughout the show is truly remarkable, as if the 88 keys were a natural extension of his hands.

Scott Moreau is a natural Johnny Cash, with his powerful, deep voice and black clad swagger on stage. Of course, there’s Elvis to round out the quartet. Alex Boniello brings it all; the hips, the hair and the tunes.

Elvis’ (fictitious) girlfriend Dyanne, played by the beautiful Bligh Voth, delivered a sultry and seductive version of “Fever”, the song made famous by the legendary pop and jazz signer Peggy Lee.

The musical is set in the recording studio of Sun Records. Producer Sam Phillips (played by Jason Loughlin) gathers the (then) known and unknown musicians together just before Christmas of 1956. We find out how these musicians got their start between the jam sessions and some insight about the tough music business in the ‘50s.

With the accomplished Sam Weber (plays Brother Jay) on the bass and David Sonneborn (plays Fluke) keeping the beat on the drums, this incredible cast blends the perfect orchestration of stories, songs, music and dance.

It’s one of those musical you just don’t want to end!

Million Dollar Quartet is currently playing at the Paper Mill Playhouse through April 23. Visit www.PaperMill.org for ticket information.
