On Thursday, October 11, the Education Foundation of Millburn/Short Hills will kick off the 2012-13 school year with a mini “Millburn Schools Rock” fundraiser at Martini Bar & Bistro in downtown Millburn. The event is open to the public and tickets may be purchased at the door for $25. This donation covers entrance to the show plus one beverage (soft drink, beer or wine).
The evening’s highlight is an 8:00PM live performance by The Northstar Session, a Los Angeles-based band making a rare New Jersey appearance. Fans will recognize The Northstar Session (TNS) as the band that was featured last year on NBCʼs hit series Parenthood. This rock trio of Matt Szlachetka, Kane McGee, and Dave Basaraba has played over 500 shows, touring 3 weeks out of every month since the 2010 release of their third full-length album “Late Bloomer.” TNS has toured extensively throughout the country and has been featured in music magazines across the US and Europe.
“We are thrilled to have the Northstar Session come to Martinis to do a show that will benefit the Ed Foundation,” states Martini’s owner Ted Stampoulos. “This is going to be a great party, and what could be more important than raising money to benefit the kids in our township public schools?”
The Education Foundation of Millburn-Short Hills provides innovative and progressive programs, technology, and staff development which helps ensure continued educational excellence for Millburn Public Schools, enriching the academic experience.
