MILLBURN, NJ - The Millburn-Short Hills Desi Club is getting ready to welcome the community to a fun-filled evening of music, dance, food in celebration of Navratri. The festival of Navratri comes with a promise of nine days filled with fun, frolic, dance and festivities all around. It is one of the most vivacious festivals celebrated in India. Navratri not only symbolises the victory of good over evil but also celebrates the spirit of Indian culture in its togetherness. Families celebrate by offering prayers to the Goddess Durga and wear traditional and colourful dresses, sing folk songs and indulge in other fun activities like- playing Garba and Dandiya, a traditional form of dance from India.
This popular annual event features a night of energetic and playful dancing in traditional and colorful costumes, foot tapping music by a renowned DJ, authentic Indian food by Sukhadia, a premium Indian caterer.
