NUTLEY, NJ - What started out as a noise complaint on a Friday night on Wayside Lane, turned into dozens of people fleeing, a police foot chase, an assault, motor vehicle violations, multiple arrests, and trips to the Essex County Correctional Facility.

Leading up to the events on Friday August 16, someone made a Snap Chat post about a party taking place at a township residence. According to the Nutley Police Department, "a multitude of people, unknown to the resident," showed up at the home univited by the homeowner. When police arrived in response to the noise complaint, several dozen people were reported to have been seen fleeing the scene.

According to police, several arrests were made as a result of pursuits made by officers in motor vehicles and on foot.

One of the motor vehicle chases ended with the arrest of Daniel Marte, 19, of Moonachie.

Marte was transported to the Nutley Public Safety Building on Chestnut St. where he was and charged with Third  Degree Eluding, and issued several motor vehicle summonses. The summonses included careless driving, disregard for a stop sign, failure to give a proper signal, failure to comply with the direction of a police officer, a safety glass requirement (for a cracked windshield). He was advised of his court date and released on his own recognizance.

Two passengers in Marte's vehicle, Brandon Graham, 19, of Saddle Brook, and Anthony Ortiz, 19, of Hasbrouk Heights, were also placed into police custody and transported to headquarters.  Both parties were charged with possession of marijuana. They were both finger printed, processed, advised of their mandatory court dates and released from custody. 

Another motor vehicle persuit resulted in the arrest of a 21 year old Maplewood resident.

Lionel Aladin was taken to Nutley police headquarters where he was charged with eluding and issued issued multiple motor vehicle summonses. The summonses included: failure to use headlights, improper passing, careless driving, obstructed view windshield, failure to signal, driving while suspended, leaving the scene, driving without insurance, failure to produce license, registrations or insurance card, failure to report accident and reckless driving. He was transported to the Essex County Correctional Facility. 

In addition to the motor vehicle persuits, a foot chase results in the arrest of a 19 year old Millburn resident.

Officers from the Nutley Police Department gave chase after one of the people attending the party was punched in the face. Tyler Caillet was caught and taken into police custody where he was charged with simple assault and eluding by flight. Once taked into police custody, it was discovered that the he had an outstanding arrest warrant out of Hawthorne. He was transported to the Essex County Correctonal Facility.
