MILLBURN, NJ - Playwright Cathy Tempelsman will be at the Millburn Free Public Library on Saturday, Sept. 28 from noon to 1 p.m. to discuss her new play, “A Most Dangerous Woman.” The play is having its world premiere at the Shakespeare Theatre of New Jersey this month and was a finalist for the Terrence McNally New Play award in 2013.

Tempelsman’s play focuses on the extraordinary life of Mary Ann Evans, better known by her pen name George Eliot.  Evans wrote under this pseudonym to escape the judgment and scandal often cast upon female writers of the 19th Century.  Eliot’s works include Adam Bede, Middlemarch, The Mill on the Floss, and Silas Marner.

Admission to this program is free but space is limited to 100.  If you are interested in attending, you may reserve a seat by registering online at (then click on the “Events Calendar”) or you can call the library at (973) 376-1006 ext 113.
