On September 6, 2016 Millburn Police Officer Lipke responded to an Ironwood Court residence on a report of a motor vehicle theft that occurred sometime overnight. The resident reports an unknown actor/s took her 2014 Infiniti Q60 from the driveway. The incident is under investigation by the Millburn Police Detective Bureau.
On September 7, 2016 Millburn Police Officer Lipke responded to a Ferndale Road residence on a criminal mischief report. The resident reports between September 2-7, 2016 unknown actor/s cut the wiring of his air conditioning unit. The incident is under investigation by the Millburn Police Detective Bureau.
On September 8, 2016 Millburn Police Officer Lanni stopped a 1996 Infiniti G20 on JFK Pkwy for an inoperable brake light. The investigation led to the arrest of the 27 year old driver Justin Barnes out of Jersey City for traffic warrants out of Clark and Jersey City. Mr. Barnes was issued a summons for revoked driving and released with new court dates.
On September 8, 2016 Millburn Police Officer Salemi responded to the Forever XXI store at The Mall at Short Hills on a theft report. Forever XXI personnel report employee Eric Mitchell, age 26 out of East Orange, fraudulently credited $677.75 to cards he used between August 29-September 8, 2016. Mr. Mitchell was charged with theft by deception and released with a court date.
On September 8, 2016 Millburn Police Officer Nacim stopped 37 year old Jose Ramon out of Vauxhall after observing him in the area of Walnut Ave. A Walnut Ave resident reports an individual had been on their property looking into the residence before running away. Mr. Ramon was found to have an outstanding criminal warrant out of Trenton. Mr. Ramon was placed under arrest and transported to headquarters. Mr. Ramon was released with a new court date.
On September 10, 2016 Millburn Police Officer Nakashian responded to Walgreens on a fraud report. Walgreens personnel report a black male approximately 5’9” wearing a black/red shirt purchased $273.10 worth of merchandise with a stolen credit card. The incident is under investigation by the Millburn Police Detective Bureau.
On September 11, 2016 Millburn Police responded to reports of burglaries to motor vehicles on Hilltop Road, Kenilworth Drive, East Hartshorn Drive, and Hartshorn Drive. The residents report the following vehicles were entered: 2014 Nissan Pathfinder, 2015 Toyota Sienna, 2015 Range Rover, 2015 Jeep Cherokee, 2016 Land Rover, 2012 Subaru Outback, 2013 BMW, 2014 BMW, 2006 Honda Odyssey, 2016 Acura MDX, and a 2012 Land Rover. One of the residents reports missing $30.00 in cash and $10.00 in quarters. All of the other victims report nothing missing from the vehicles.
All residents are reminded to keep their vehicles locked.
On September 12, 2016 Millburn Police Sergeant Delrusso stopped a 2015 Chrysler 200 on Rt 24 West after observing the vehicle swerving on the highway and travelling at a slow speed. The investigation led to the arrest of the passenger, 23 year old Bakhtawar Asif out of Queens, for possession of a controlled dangerous substance (marijuana), and possession of drug paraphernalia. Ms. Asif was also found to be a a wanted person out of Nassau County. Ms. Asif transported to the Essex County Correctional Facilitiy.
“These are accusations. All defendants are presumed innocent unless and until they enter a guilty plea or are found guilty in a court of law.”
