LIVINGSTON, NJ — Saint Barnabas Medical Center (SBMC), the flagship facility of RWJBarnabas Health located in Livingston, was recently selected to receive the Excellence Award, the highest-level recognition bestowed by the Mid-Atlantic Alliance for Performance Excellence (MAAPE), a regional-level Baldrige-based award program.
“Saint Barnabas Medical Center is relentless in our efforts to align and integrate processes to ensure we are providing the highest level of safety and quality,” said Stephen Zieniewicz, FACHE, President and CEO, SBMC. “Obtaining the regional-level Baldrige Award from the Mid-Atlantic Alliance for Performance Excellence reflects the dedication of our entire team to deliver on our mission to provide compassionate care, healthcare excellence and superior service to our patients and their families. The honor is the result of a diligent pursuit of excellence from physicians, employees and volunteers at every level of the organization beginning with our Board of Trustees.”
According to SBMC, MAAPE’s Excellence Award recognizes applicants from diverse industries that demonstrate superior levels of performance excellence through practices and results. As the highest-quality achievement award presented on a regional level, it follows the Malcolm Baldrige criteria for organizational excellence.
The seven categories that make up the award criteria include leadership; strategy; customers; measurement, analysis, and knowledge management; workforce; operations; and results.
The award will be presented at MAAPE's 12th Annual Awards Banquet & Conference to be held this month at the Desmond Hotel in Malvern, PA.
