When an elderly parent needs care, family members struggle to know the right things to do. It can feel like uncharted waters, with no navigational system. They feel conflicted. They may need help taking care of their parents and keeping them safe. They also fear losing control.

“We never know when mom might fall. We’re afraid to go on vacation. And with COVID-19, we don’t know how safe it is to bring somebody into her home to help care for her. How do we know that we can have in-home care that will keep our parent safe?”

Mia Kebea, Executive Vice-President, Seniors In Place has the answers. “Senior safety is always our #1 priority. We’re the experts and have provided guidance to thousands of New Jersey families. At the same time, we know how important it is that the family stays in control, and that together we find solutions for the greatest chance of success. If there are special requests, which there often are, we make sure that we fulfill those requests. We often tell families: “we take the reins – but you’re always in control.”

“We have an impeccable record of safety,” Kebea said. "There is nothing more important than the safety of our patients and our caregivers. The Seniors In Place COVID-19 Safety Protocol is the best in the business. We are out in front of other in-home care agencies in the precautions that we take. We start with CDC guidelines and then go beyond those guidelines.”

  • We prescreen all caregivers. We carefully meet and exceed all CDC guidelines. Our Director of Nursing re-writes the Seniors In Place protocol on an ongoing basis so that we’re always in compliance with CDC guidelines.

  • We supply all caregivers with gloves, N95 masks and KN95 masks, and, in some cases, other personal protective equipment to ensure both the caregiver’s and the senior’s safety

  • In order to maximize safety, we limit the number of caregivers per client right from Day 1. We offer hourly and live-in care and the family is always in control, in conjunction with Seniors In Place, of the schedule.
