SHORT HILLS, NJ - The Short Hills Association will hold its Annual Meeting and Cocktail Party on Thursday evening, May 16, at The Racquets Club in Short Hills. The Board of Directors has invited Township and school officials as guests. The slate of officers will remain the same for the coming year: Eleanor Wallen, President; Marc Cooperman and Arp Trivedi, Vice Presidents; Jessica Glatt, Secretary and Milton Resnick, Treasurer.
The Association will be working on a number of projects in the coming months. A new initiative the Board is about to undertake is a traffic-calming campaign with the slogan SLOW DOWN IN TOWN. This is an effort to make the streets safer for pedestrians and motorists alike. Red and white lawn signs will be distributed to homeowners in strategic locations that will be visible to drivers. The Parent Teacher Organization supports this project.
The Board will continue to investigate JCP&L’s provisions for storms in Millburn Township and to monitor the township boards and commissions. One topic of particular interest right now is the Zoning Board hearings of the Stop and Shop variance application. The Association is also involved with the ongoing issues of the historic preservation of significant buildings in town and the management of the deer population.
The Short Hills Association is emailing its Spring Newsletter to members who provided their address, and urges all members to provide email addresses for future correspondence (send to Ellie@07078.org).
