Jane P. Houston of Short Hills was honored with the Shipley Family Award for Philanthropic Endeavors at Greater Newark Conservancy’s “Making Our City Bloom Gala” at Nanina’s in the Park in Belleville.
The award was presented by Conservancy board member Rachel Schwarz of Millburn.
The Conservancy’s Judith L. Shipley Urban Environmental Center in Newark, a place where people can learn new skills, engage in the community, participate in fun and educational activities, re-energize and de-stress, is named for the late Judy Shipley, a beloved donor, volunteer, and friend.
Greater Newark Conservancy promotes environmental stewardship to improve the quality of life in New Jersey’s urban communities through inter-related program areas including Environmental Education, Community Greening & Urban Agriculture, Environmental Justice, and Job Training.
