BELLEVILLE, NJ - The Millburn softball team built a seven-run lead and held on for an 8-6 victory over Belleville on Monday.

The Millers led, 8-1, after scoring two runs in the top of the fifth inning. Mia Carty knocked in four runs with three singles in three at-bats for Millburn (12-9). Helen Casey had three hits, including a triple and a double, and two RBI in the victory. Abigail Policarpio went 3-for-5 with two runs scored, and Katy Shepard also connected for three singles for the Millers. Karoline Policarpio had a home run, a double and an RBI in the victory.
