Stop & Shop Discussion at Board of Adjustments Meeting and More This Week in Millburn

MILLBURN, NJ – This week’s events in town are highlighted by Monday night’s Zoning Board Meeting, where residents may finally weigh in on the Stop & Shop proposal.

Zoning Board of Adjustment Meeting: Monday, 
November 18, 7 p.m. at Town Hall, 2nd Floor.  At this meeting, the public will be invited to comment on Stop & Shop’s application for a variance and its proposed construction of a supermarket on Millburn Avenue at the old Saks Fifth Avenue location.  Many residents have expressed concern that the proposed plan will create problems with the traffic flow on Millburn Avenue. 

MMAC Empower Hour: Monday, November 18, 11 a.m. in the Williamsburg Room of the Public Library.  The second in MMAC’s series of EMPOWER HOURS. Nancy Kislin LCSW, marriage and family therapist, facilitates discussions to empower parents to have frank and open conversations with our children and with each other. Topic: Breaking the Uncomfortable Silence…Strategies for Talking to Your Kids about drugs, alcohol, intimacy and other taboo subjects.

Millburn High School Boys Soccer Team plays in the Group 4 semifinals against West Orange in Somerville on Tuesday at 7:30 p.m.

Millburn HighSchool "Ladies Night Out": Thursday, November 21 at 7 p.m. at Moonshine Supper Club, 55 Main Street. Millburn High School Limelight Players Present “Pal Joey” on Friday, November 22 and Saturday, November 23 at 8 p.m. in the MHS Auditorium.  This classic Rodgers and Hart musical features some of Broadway’s best-known songs including “Bewitched, Bothered and Bewildered,” and “I Could Write a Book.” Two-acts, one intermission, estimated running time 160 minutes.

National Weather Service Issues Heat Advisory thru Sunday for Millburn Township

Three High-End Retailers Hit by Thefts; Millburn Police Investigating

On June 19, 2018 Millburn Police Officer Crawn responded to Neiman Marcus on a theft report. Neiman Marcus personnel report a black male wearing a red hat, black winter coat, and tan backpack concealed 2 pairs of headphones valued at $498.00 in his backpack and left the store without making payment. The incident is under investigation by the Millburn Police Detective Bureau.
