Summit PAL Pet Show Set for Village Green June 12

SUMMIT, NJ – Merriam-Webster defines pet as "a domesticated animal kept for pleasure rather than utility."

Some of Summit’s finest pets will once again grace the Village Green June 12 for the Annual Police Athletic League Pet Show. This free, 'Best in Show' contest features celebrity judges, prize awards, and music and entertainment by Summit Soundz.

Pet owners interested in entering the contest may register their pets at the designated tent beginning at 11:30 a.m. on the day of the event. Pets including -- but not limited to -- dogs, cats, fish, reptiles, rodents, and birds, may enter the contest. There is no fee to register.

Celebrity judges will select winners from a variety of pet categories. Winners will be welcomed on stage to receive a special Police Athletic League (PAL) Pet Show prize ribbon. Throughout the event, pets and their owners will be able to enjoy music and entertainment as well as photo opportunities.

Water stations will be placed at various locations throughout the Village Green. Pet owners are encouraged to bring additional water as needed. All pets must be kept on leash or within pet carriers at all times.

This free event is co-sponsored by the Summit PAL and Summit Department of Community Programs. In event of rain, the Pet Show will be held June 26.
