Vaping Program

I want to thank Shannon Dahse, MMAC and the Consortium of Superintendents and Student Assistant Coordinators for the important and informative program on Vaping presented at Millburn High School on Tuesday night.  The more than 200 parents and students in attendance learned some sobering facts and figures about cigarettes, e-cigarettes, nicotine, and vape paraphernalia. Our teens are using these products. We are concerned here in the district, as incidents of student use are on the rise.  State law bans smoking or use of any tobacco product anywhere on school grounds at any time. Students found with vaping parephernalia will be subject to the disciplinary measures, including suspension, that are outlined in the Middle and High School student/parent handbooks.

Learn more about Vaping and E-cigarettes from the CDC and in this handout from Tuesday's program.

Website Update

Our new website is almost ready for prime time!  Our current website (aka Edline) will be phased out by the end of December, so be on the lookout for a fresh look to our district and school sites in the middle of the month.  There will be some changes – no more logging in for parents and students is one difference.  This site gives us more options to post photos, share moments on social media and easily provide important content.  We are working overtime to upload all of the information that website visitors want and need.  It will be a work in progress as we make the transition, so we appreciate your patience as we improve the experience for all.

December…already?!

Time to start enjoying the sights and sounds of the season. Our Middle School Peer Leaders will be marching in the Snowflake Parade on Sunday. There may even be some familiar-looking Olafs sloshing along the route, along with our local Scout troops and more.  Come out and cheer them on, and then stop by the new Winter Walk in Taylor park to get into the holiday spirit!

Enjoy the weekend!
