Dr. Christine Burton Credits: TAPinto Millburn and Short Hills

It was a glorious day for a graduation today. Congratulations once again to the 122nd Graduating Class of Millburn High School. I invite you to “attend” the Commencement Ceremony courtesy of MHS Studio462, to hear a funny and heartwarming speech from Noah Brookhim, President of the Class of 2017, see the awarding of the annual Sally DeVeer Memorial Award for Excellence in Teaching to Hartshorn teacher Mary Jane Reisler, and of course the traditional tossing of the caps!   Enjoy this slideshow of moments from the day.
Summer Reading

As you head off to your summer activities, be sure you have your summer reading at the ready. Middle School students can find their summer reading assignments here. The High School English department is offering SUM-thing for everyone. Take a trip through their reading lists, and you will want to add many of their choices to your book club or beach reading lists along with your students. Take some time to peruse this year’s student publications. Millburn High School’s award-winning literary magazine WORD and the academic journal Cellar Door have just been published. We are extremely proud of the many talents of our students and their work in this year’s editions. Thanks to English teachers and faculty advisors, Dr. Minaz Jooma and Ms. Shirley Lazar, with a special thanks to Jessica Siegel and Kathleen Harte-Gilsenan for their efforts and for all the staff for their support of this work.
Back to School Update

This summer we will continue our annual Back to School Update process for families to update their information through our online Registration Gateway site (accessed through PowerSchool).   Families will need to update family data and emergency contact information for all returning students. The portal is tentatively scheduled to be open from July 18 to August 19. Want to get a head start on the process? Please be sure you know how to log in to your PowerSchool account and confirm that all of your current students are connected to your account. More details will be sent out in July as we get closer to the portal opening.
