LIVINGSTON, N.J. — Before Winter Storm Grayson hit New Jersey, the Millburn High School Girls Swim Team faced off with the Ridgers of Glen Ridge at Newark Academy.
The Lady Millers got off to a quick start finishing first and second in the first six events. The meet heated up with the 500 free, a race where hundredths of seconds and even tenths rarely matter. The winner for Glen Ridge sprinted home in a time of 5:57.02, second place touched the wall at 5:57.09, and third place came in at 5:57.84.
Millburn took three of the last four events and walked away with a 114 to 56 victory. Individual victors included: Megan Balbo (200 Free, 100 Fly), Alyssa Levy (200 IM), Clare Johnson (50 Free), Ellie Dessart (100 Free), and Livia Maguire (100 Back).
The Glen Ridge Ridgers put up a fight and stayed positive throughout, but Millburn proved too strong. On deck for the Lady Millers: Tuesday, January 9 against Montclair Kimberley Academy (away) and the SEC Championships on Monday, January 15 at Raritan Bay YMCA.
