KEARNY, NJ - The Lady Miller Swim Team improved its record to 3-2 when they met the Kearny Kardinals on Thursday, December 14.

The Kardinals quickly found themselves in the red when Millburn took the first event - 200 Medley Relay - in a hotly contested race to the finish. The Millers threw a one-two punch in taking the 200 Free, 200 IM, and 500 Free. The 200 Free Relay glided in seven seconds ahead of Kearny to set the stage for a 57 to 37 victory. MHS winners of the afternoon included: Freshmen Devin Genderson (50 & 500 Free), Alia Jamil, and April Wang, Sophomores Clare Johnson (200 IM & 100 Fly) and Emily Segal (200 Free), Junior Sachi Tanwar, and Senior co-captain Katy Shepard.

Coach Christopher D’Anna was thankful for the win after an unfortunate loss to Newark Academy (83-87) just one week earlier, “Today began a stretch of important meets. Our team really has to find its identity, hit its stride, and be our best as we look forward to serious SEC competition. This team has yet to be at its best.”

Next week the Millers take on Union High School on Monday and Montclair on Wednesday.
