MONTCLAIR, NJ - A 14-year-old from West Orange sustained multiple stab wounds during an altercation in Nishuane Park on Thursday evening.

At approximately 6:50 p.m., Montclair Police officers received multiple 911 calls for an injured juvenile.

Lt. David O'Dowd of the Montclair Police Department stated that the teen sustained, "...multiple stab wounds to his neck, back, and arm."

Officers apprehended the suspect in the vicinity of the park.  The suspect, also a 14-year-old West Orange male, had a single scratch to the elbow, police said. 

The victim was transported to UMDNJ and is listed in stable condition.  This incident is currently under investigation.
