Dear Editor:

On behalf of the Millburn-Short Hills Chamber of Commerce, I would like to offer sincere thanks to the many township departments, community groups, organizations  and individuals who helped make the 36th Annual Investors Bank President’s Cup Night Race held on June 15th such a success.  Despite the early afternoon downpours, runners were committed to the race.   More than 1,500 runners registered for this year’s 5k run.

First a sincere thank you to the Township Police department. They did an outstanding job of traffic control, ensuring the safety of both runners and spectators. Thanks to the Department of Public Works, the Millburn-Short Hills Rescue Squad and Fire Department, and to the staff at Charlie Brown’s Fresh Grill who did a tremendous job with cleanup.  Thank you to Mayor Tillotson, the Millburn Township Committee and Township Administrator Tim Gordon for their ongoing support of this event.

A special thanks to Mike Conforti and the entire staff at The Sneaker Factory.  They are responsible for the behind the scenes organization.  Their expertise has nurtured this race making it one of the best managed 5K races in the region.

Thanks to our American Red Cross for coordinating the water stop and to the First Aid Squad who made assistance available. Thanks to Claudia and Michael Karp and the Weichert Realtors volunteers for manning the water stops and to Millburn High School for providing the necessary equipment and allowing us to use their property.

The Chamber of Commerce would like to thank Investors Bank for serving as the event’s major corporate sponsor and for providing volunteer assistance.  The Mall at Short Hills was also a major sponsor.

Thank you to the following sponsors. They are: The Sneaker Factory, Charlie Brown’s Fresh Grill, Samuel Adams, Peerless Beverage Company, Saucony, Budd Larner, Katz-Novoa Architects, Pride Products, Studio 1200, Summit Medical Group, Millburn Laser Center, Weichert Realtors and Hilton Short Hills.
