SHORT HILLS, NJ – It seemed the world had come to Short Hills as many cultures were represented at an evening of food, dance and music at The Glenwood Global Gala on March 22. The celebration of international traditions and cultural diversity were highlighted through displays of traditional clothing, national costumes and performances.
The multipurpose rooms were brimming with colors, sounds and the smells as hundreds explored the various tables, sampling food and talking with “cultural diplomats”. Parents, as well as students, were ambassadors for the night, sharing insights and traditions of their ancestral heritage.
Australia, Greece, China, India, France, S. Korea, Ireland, Italy and the Dominican Republic were some of the more than 20 countries represented at the evening affair.
Thanks to the hard work of parents and students, the Gala certainly raised awareness of the many cultures represented in the township.
