HAMILTON, NY — Members of the Class of 2020 were honored in a virtual ceremony on May 17 at Colgate University's 199th Commencement. That ceremony had a local touch, with two graduates from right in town. They were:
- Jenna Dembner, a graduate of Millburn High School, of Short Hills, NJ and,
- Aurora Halbert, a graduate of Transfer or Adv. Standing, also of Short Hills, NJ
According to the release sent out by the university, Colgate University is a highly selective residential liberal arts institution distinguished by its commitment to global engagement, student-faculty research, off-campus study, sustainable practices, and utilizing technology to enhance the teaching and learning experience.
Colgate offers 56 majors to a diverse student body of approximately 3,000 undergraduate students, and supports 25 Division I athletic teams. The university's 575-acre campus in rural central New York is renowned for its beauty and for the important role it plays in the student experience.
